Help Renovate Our Community House & Grounds

The North Rosedale Park Community House and grounds have served us well as a focal point for community events since 1939. They've quietly aged and are in need of major repair and renovation so they can continue to effectively serve North Rosedale Park and our surrounding neighborhoods. In short, their time has come.

                              Campaign Status

Planning is still underway for the proposed North Rosedale Park Community House capital campaign. The following document provides information on the current status of the campaign.

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Architecture, Detroit Collaborative Design Center worked with the community to develop a conceptual design plan for the renovation of the Community House and grounds. This involved a Neighborhood Engagement Workshop with representatives of the many stakeholders who use these facilities. Subsequent small focus group meetings were held with specific stakeholders. Throughout the process, the inputs of individual community members were continuously obtained through their submission of "Community Comment Cards" or input to the "Journal" at the Community House and GRDC office. The comments made to date can be viewed in the following document.

The conceptual design phase will draw to a close during July 2011. Many versions of proposed renovations to the Community House and grounds have been presented to the community. The Detroit Collaborative Design Center was present at June Day to discuss these designs with neighborhoods and to receive more feedback. The following drawings represent the present conceptual designs. They are not necessarily the final versions, but they will be the starting point as the project moves into the implementation stages during the fall of 2011.

                              We Need Your Input

Your feedback is still critical to the success of this project and your input through a journal entry or a Comment Card is welcomed. This can be done at the Community House, at the offices of the Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation, or you can submit your comments here.

If North Rosedale Park does nothing else with its Community House and Grounds, it should?
