Special Projects and Events
If you are looking for a time-limited volunteer opportunity, please consider the following as a way to give back to your neighborhood. Information on dates, times, and project leaders for these events can be found on the Community Calendar or in the Tattler newsletter. You can also complete a Volunteer Interest Form and a representative from the North Rosedale Park Civic Association will follow up.
Beautification & Neighborhood Clean Up
The Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation coordinates several beautification and clean-up projects throughout the year for the neighborhoods of North Rosedale Park, Rosedale Park, Minock Park, Grandmont I and Grandmont II. We also publish information specific to beautification and clean-up projects in North Rosedale Park in the Tattler newsletter.
Christmas Breakfast
The annual Christmas Breakfast always proves to be one of the season's more anticipated traditions. It's held in early December at the Community House and features a full breakfast of some of your favorite foods. There is a medley of Christmas carols and, of course, a visit from Santa to hear the wish lists of all the youngsters.
Easter Egg Hunt
The North Rosedale Park Easter Egg Hunt is great fun. Children ages 12 and under are welcome to participate. There will be a Golden egg contest, arts and crafts, prizes and egg hunting.
Garage Sales
At least twice a year (May and September) we take our gently used treasures to the Community House for the neighborhood Garage Sale. Tables and spaces are sold for this six hour, bargain extravaganza.
Home & Garden Tour
The North Rosedale Park Home and Garden Tour is a wonderful showcase for some of the best interior design and landscaping in the city.
June Day
If you attend one function all year, it should be June Day. It's for kids, but the age limit for kids is waived for the day. This 80 year tradition has a parade, fun run, midway, field games, pony rides, prizes, food, music and fun for all tied around an annual theme. Twelve hours of activities for the entire family.
Steak (and Salmon) Roast
This "end-of-summer" party is traditionally held at the Community House on the Friday following Labor Day. There is a basic menu of fish (salmon) or steak with an evening of conversation, dancing and neighborhood togetherness. The good thing about the steak roast is that if you don't like the food preparation, you get to do it the following year.
Halloween at the Community House
One of the most popular neighborhood events where hundreds of children descend on the grounds of the Community House for trick-or-treat fun.
Chili Cook Off
The Chili Cook Off is a new neighborhood event to spark a little friendly competition and crown the best chili-maker in the neighborhood.
