The following CLEAN items can be recycled:

NEWSPAPERS: Tie with string or bundle in brown paper bags

MAGAZINES: Tie with string or bundle in brown paper bags

OFFICE AND COMPUTER PAPER: All colors. tie with string or bundle in brown paper bags. Please no plastic

CARDBOARD: Brown or gray interiors or corrugated. Empty, clean and flatten. No milk cartons

PLASTIC: Containers which have the number 1 or 2 in the recycle symbol on the bottom. Rinse containers and remove caps

GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS: Clear or Brown. Rinse, sort by color and remove lids

METAL: Copper, brass, aluminum foil, pie pans, tins or metal cans. Remove labels and rinse. Please separate tin cans from aluminum, copper and brass.

2007 dates are Jan 20th, Feb 17th, Mar 17th, Apr 21st, May 19th, June 16th, July 21st, Aug 18th,       Sept 15th, Oct 20th, Nov 17th and Dec 15th.

The City of Detroit collects household hazardous waste twice a year. These materials will be accepted on April 21 and October 20 only

If the recycling center is closed, please do not leave your recyclable materials in the lot.
